Next Wednesday May 20th 2015 Major-General (Air) Frederik Vansina will announce the Initial Operational Capability (IOC) of the 18th Squadron of the 1st Wing.

The NH90 MTH (Medium Transport Helicopter) from the base can now be use in transport missions at home and abroad.

This initial stage also means that the last training phase can be initiated with the goal of achieve a Full Operational Capability.

During this final training phase pilots will specialize in advanced flight in hostile environments in cooperation with other weapon systems.
