ILA Berlin, Germany - CAE announced that it was awarded a contract by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to update the visual system of the NH90 NTH Sea Lion full-mission simulator suites for the German Navy with CAE Prodigy, CAE’s Image Generator (IG).

The update enhances the visual system supporting naval aviation training and reinforces CAE’s longstanding partnership with Germany’s defence forces and its commitment to delivering high-fidelity, mission-relevant training solutions.

CAE Prodigy marks a major step forward in synthetic environment generation, delivering exceptional visual realism and responsiveness. Built to support seamless transitions between live and synthetic training, it allows aircrews to move naturally between real-world and training environments, strengthening mission readiness.

On the two full-mission simulators updated with CAE Prodigy, CAE is introducing major advances in visual immersion for complex rear-crew mission environments. The system extends immersion beyond the cockpit with synchronized, high-resolution exterior and Mixed Reality (MR) environments tailored to rear-crew roles. By combining advanced display configurations with next-generation image generation, these true-to-life visuals support immersive simulation for demanding multi-role NH90 missions, including hoisting, door gunnery, and cargo operations.

Pascal Grenier, President, CAE Defense & Security, said “By integrating CAE Prodigy into the NH90 NTH Sea Lion full-mission simulator training environment, we bridged the gap between simulated and real-world training, which supports more effective mission rehearsal, sharper decision-making, and improved operational readiness for today’s demanding missions. We are honoured to support the Bundeswehr through our close cooperation in delivering advanced mission and operational support.”

The contract award builds on CAE Prodigy deployments for European defence forces delivered late last year by CAE, including the CH-53GS helicopter simulator for Germany and Eurofighter training devices for Austria. The adoption of CAE Prodigy on these programs demonstrates CAE Prodigy’s ability to deliver highly realistic, scalable training across diverse high-performance military training environments.

With decades of experience across air, land, maritime, cyber, and space domains, CAE provides advanced platform-agnostic training and simulation solutions that support defence forces worldwide, enhancing safety, operational effectiveness, and mission readiness in increasingly complex operational environments.
