Helis, August 04, 2019 - The Royal Air Force’ Puma Force pass 1600 days in Afghanistan as part of ongoing Operation Toral.
The Puma helicopters based in Kabul have flown thousands of hours as part of the ongoing NATO “Resolute Support” mission to train, advise and assist (TAAC-Air) Afghan security forces.
The Puma HC-2 detachment replaced the Chinook in March 2015 moving coalition personnel and freight between bases.
Pumas have continued to operate despite the challenges the aircrew face from the Afghan winter, snow and mountainous terrain.
