Helis, July 15, 2018 - The first Royal Canadian Air Force CH-146 Griffon and CH-147F Chinook have arrived in Gao, Mali.
The helicopters are deployed under Operation Presence which marks the return of Canada to United Nations peacekeeping missions. Is expected that they will remain in the region for 12 months in support of the Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).
Canada’s contribution will join 57 MINUSMA partner countries in their continued efforts to bring sustainable peace and stability to Mali and the Sahel.
Plans involved the deployment of 4 Griffon and 2 Chinooks with the half of them on standby at all times
