Helis, August 30, 2018 - ISTAMBUL - Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) shared pictures of the prototype of its T625 Multirole Helicopter and announced is going to start ground tests soon.
Turkey government signed contract for development the helicopter in September 2013.
The T625 helicopter is a twin-engine, 6-ton-class aircraft designed for two crew and 12 passengers and developed for different internal configurations such as VIP transport, air ambulance or search and rescue operations.
Is powered by two LHTEC (a Rolls Royce and Honeywell partnership) CTS800 turboshaft engines of 1373 shp each which also powers the TAI T129 military helicopter.
It also includes a 4-axis dual redundant automatic flight control system to give superior performance and handling quality.
First flight of the prototype is scheduled for later this year and will be follow by the civilian certification from both the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)
