GE Aviation, August 13, 2025 - NEWTON ABBOT, UK – GE Aerospace has awarded a six-year contract to Barnes Aerospace to manufacture components for the T700/CT7 family of engines at its facility in Newton Abbot, United Kingdom.

This partnership will support the UK Government’s Strategic Defence Review ambitions for resilient supply chains and a thriving industrial base. It reflects GE Aerospace’s enhanced commitment to delivering customer value in the UK, supporting programs such as the UK New Medium Helicopter program and other impactful efforts.

Scott Keating, Executive Regional Manager for Europe at GE Aerospace, said “This contract highlights our dedication to driving social value, innovation, and economic growth in the UK’s aerospace sector while supporting T700/CT7 operators in a region with advanced technologies and reliable services”

As part of this deal, Barnes Aerospace will produce T700/CT7 airfoils, critical components that enable the engine’s performance and reliability. This work builds on a trusted partnership between GE Aerospace and Barnes Aerospace that spans more than 30 years, underscoring the strength of their collaboration and shared commitment to delivering high-quality aerospace solutions.

George Whittier, Chief Executive Officer of Barnes Aerospace, said “Barnes Aerospace is delighted to continue our longstanding partnership with GE Aerospace through the development of airfoil components for the T700/CT7 program from our Newton Abbot facility in the UK. This represents the first package of work from GE Aerospace to Newton Abbot, and we see it as the start of a long-term relationship between one of our most important customers and an exceptional operating facility that already produces up to one million airfoil components per year.”

The contract also aligns with GE Aerospace’s focus on supporting rotorcraft customers across the region, bringing numerous economic benefits to the UK, including job creation, new apprenticeship opportunities, new manufacturing capabilities, new skills development, and exports.

Rita Flaherty, Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development at GE Aerospace, said “These expanding relationships reflect GE Aerospace’s ongoing effort to building strong supplier relationships that drive economic impact and industrial advancement in the United Kingdom”

The recent agreement with Barnes Aerospace is a result of GE Aerospace’s continuing efforts to expand its commercial collaborations with UK businesses to support its local manufacturing and service footprint and to assist the UK government in generating meaningful economic, social, and environmental benefits through its Social Value Model. As a part of this initiative, GE Aerospace recently hosted a UK supplier showcase event at its headquarters in Evendale, Ohio, where more than 50 UK-based suppliers gathered to explore opportunities for partnership and growth.
