Broad Range of VA Approved Courses for Veterans
FlightSafety, March 04, 2019 - NEW YORK – FlightSafety International increases its support for veterans with a broad range of VA approved courses.

FlightSafety now offers more than 259 courses approved for education benefits by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, at 12 Learning Centers in the United States. FlightSafety continues
to work with Veterans Affairs to expand the number of available training programs and locations.

VA approval to provide training for the Airbus Helicopters AS350B3, EC130T2, EC135 and the Bell 407GXP at the Denver Learning Center is expected within a few months.

“FlightSafety is proud to support those who have served in the military,” said Steve Gross, Senior Vice President, Commercial. “We will continue to work with the U.S. Veterans Affairs Department to qualify more of our courses and Learning Centers to help veterans prepare for a career in the business and commercial aviation industry, or to enhance their current skills.”

The approved courses are available to veterans who wish to pursue a career as a professional pilot, or initial or recurrent training for experienced pilots under many VA benefit programs.

National Guard members, reservists and active duty military may also qualify for substantial assistance for FlightSafety training.
Type-specific training is offered on a wide variety of aircraft built by Airbus Helicopters, Bell Helicopter, Bombardier, Dassault, Gulfstream, Leonardo Helicopters, Sikorsky and others. Non-aircraft-specific training provided by FlightSafety such as ATP CTP, instrument ratings, multi-engine certification, airline transport flight instructor, and dispatcher are also approved by the VA.

Those interested should apply to the VA for a Certificate of Eligibility to see which programs are available to them. Veterans utilizing Post-9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33) are only required to prepay the difference between the maximum yearly benefit and the total course cost. Training programs for veterans are approved on a state-by-state basis, in the state where the training is offered.
