Originally formed as 1914 Air Observation Flight, RAF on 1 Jan 1947 at Kuala Lumpur, it transferred to the Army Air Corps under 656 Sq administration, at Port Dickson (Malaya) on 1 Sep 1957 becoming 14 Flight.
In Apr 1964 it handed over its Auster and Beaver fixed wing aircraft and took on 5 Scout AH.1. The Flight was the last ACC unit in Borneo during the confrontation, covering the withdrawal of most British forces from Sarawak and Sabah. By the end of Oct 1966, 14 Flight left Kuching for Singapore on RFA Sir Lancelot.
