601st TASS was part of the 601st TCW (Tactical Control Wing), from 1968. This unit was for (mobile) radar. From 1970 they also had some fixed wing like the Cessna O-2, and from 1974 to 1984 the OV-10A (20th TASS). 
1974-1977,AC1 was stationed at sembach AFB and work as AMI
1974-1978, Msgt Raymond A. Verbeck assigned to this squadron as H-53 Flt engineer
1986-1988, Patrick Bicanic was stationed and worked on the CH 53 fleet
