Formed from a rump of 72 Squadron (as it converted to the Wessex HC.2) at RAF Odiham in Aug 1964. It remained at Odiham, operating for 2 years before it disbanded in Aug 1966 and was absorbed into the Short Range Conversion Unit (SRCU).
