Established 1995, HAWCS (Helicopter Air Watch for Community Safety) aviation unit of the Calgary police was the first municipal police agency in Canada to have a full-time patrol helicopter program. Started with NOTAR MD520N and in 2006 acquired two EC120. In 2019 ordered two H125 as their replacements
