The 2nd Squadron of the 10th Aviation Group (2/10 GAv) Pelicano is the only unit of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) dedicated exclusively to conducting Search and Rescue (SAR) missions. The squadron's history began with the amphibious PBY-5A Catalina, followed by the SA-16 Albatross, and eventually, the Embraer P-95 Bandeirulha and SC-95B Bandeirante fixed-wing aircraft. They retired their last Huey helicopter in 2018 and have since been operating the UH-60L Black Hawk.
