August 1968, Vietnam War, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines perform a clear and search operation in Quang Nam Province.


Stream bed just outside of Special Landing Force (SLF) 2/7 perimeter being used as staging area for helicopters
Operation was to land on the ridges under the red line. They were "shot out of the zone" by multiple 12.7mm guns sites on the ridge
