Formed at RAF Odiham on 5 Aug 1964 as a fixed and rotary wing to provide training in techniques of Army co-operation flying. Alongside its Wessex HC.2 it also flew Austers and the Twin Pioneer. During Aug 1966, it also absorbed the Belvedere Conversion Unit, when that was disbanded. It disappeared at the end of Jun 1967 to re-emerge as the Helicopter Operational Conversion Flight (HOCF).
