North of Spokane, WA. Then listed as Save 66. It was tasked that day for MAST support to WA dept. Forestry for 2 (minor) injured workers stuck on steep terrain needing extrication and med eval. Back then I was a SERE school medic. Was asked if I wanted to go do the recovery to evaluate and get them on the hoist? I had a couple of other med transports on 66 from the training area over the years 82-85. But That was my 1st and only hoist recoveries.
accident w/o 30aug23 Experienced IFE and hard landing - Seen overturned at Cheyenne Regional Airport with substantial damage. Uncertain in whether it will be repaired, as these Huey's will soon be replaced by the MH139. Air Force has an extensive amount of spare parts for these aircraft, so as long as there is a serial number she could be repaired. 37th HSUSAF UH-1N Crashes at Cheyenne Airport, WY
