The Sockeye Field was discovered by Chevron in 1970. It produces via the Gail platform from 5 reservoirs in the Miocene Monterey and Topanga Formations and the Oligocene Sespe Formation varying from c 4800 to 6700ft deep.
Chevron was due to begin decommissioning of the Gail platform in 2019.
