The Johan Sverdrup Field was discovered from two wells in 2010 and was renamed when it was realised that they had tapped different parts of the same structure. The complex consists of 4 platforms connected by bridges and production began in Oct 2019. There was an official opening ceremony on 7 Jan 2020.
