the ka-25 was a variant of the ka-20. it had three major variants, which were all designed for marine use. it had one civil variant, the ka-25k which could carry 12 passengers or cargo.

- Ka-25PL Hormone-A was the shipborne anti-submarine version
- Ka-25Ts Hormone-B was the shipborne over-the-horizon weapons targetting version
- Ka-25PS Hormone-C was the shipborne search and rescue version
- Ka-25BShZ was equipped with mine countermeasures equipment.
