The CH-47F Block II Chinook featured an improved drivetrain to transfer greater power from the engines to the all-new, swept-tip Advanced Chinook Rotor Blades, which have been engineered to lift 1,500 additional pounds on their own.
The CH-47F configuration of six fuel tanks – three on each side – has become two, allowing the aircraft to carry more fuel and shed weight.
Additionally, the fuselage’s structure was strengthened in critical areas to allow the aircraft to carry additional payload.
Overall, the Boeing CH-47F Block II Chinook features increased lift capability, extended range, and improved operational efficiency including redesigned, larger, and lighter fuel tanks, increasing its fuel capacity and the latest updates to the Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) and Digital Advanced Flight Control System (DAFCS).
First order was for upgraded MH-47G for US Army Special Forces.
