
The Robinson 66 is a five-seat turbine-powered helicopter slightly faster and smoother
than the previous R44 and it also features a separate cargo compartment.
It first flew on November 7, 2007 receiving both type and production certificates from the FAA
on October 25, 2010. Deliveries started November 2010 and the 500th R66 rolled off Robinson production line on March 14, 2014.
The 1000th R66 was delivered on July 2020. The global fleet surpassed 1.2 million flight hours.
