In 2018 Schiebel partnered with Raytheon delivered 3 Camcopter S-100 drones under Navy Minor Project 1942 as an interim shipborne vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.
In May 2022, the S-100 was confirmed as the winner of the Sea 129 Phase 5 program to run from 2024 to 2028 to provide an undisclosed number of drones (possible 40) to be embarked on the 8 Anzac class frigates and 12 Arafura class OPVs the first of which will be commissioned in 2023.
However in September 2023, after 16 months of operations, the contract has been formally dropped as part of the 2023 Defence Strategic Review (DSR) by the new Australian Labor government.
