Known as HH-139A in italian service, they were the first examples of the AW139M dedicated military variant to be delivered. Thirteen aircraft replaced the ageing AB.212 and HH-3F in SAR, CSAR and Special Ops missions.
Four VH-139A VIP variant replaced the Agusta SH-3DTS used by 31 Stormo.
First of 17 7Ton variant HH-139B with double winch, new avionics and door windows delivered on November 27, 2020.
