The H145D2 was ordered in 2016 to replace the legacy
EC145. The first two aircraft were delivered on June 21, 2018, entering service at the lowland bases in Berne and Basel. A total of six aircraft were scheduled to be operational by mid-2019 but this ultimately increased to seven.
From 2025, replacement by the new
H145D3 was well underway, with four aircraft sold to the
Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie and the remaining to New Zealand’s
GCH Aviation. The last two H145D2s were withdrawn from service by August.
