HAL, February 23, 2019 - Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) delivered the first three Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) to the Indian Army during Aero India 2019, as part of a contract for 22 ALH Mk IIIs.
HAL had entered into a contract with the Indian Army for 40 ALHs (22 ALH Mk IIIs and 18 Mk IV Rudras) in August 2017.
Of the 22 helicopters, 19 helicopters have already been produced and will be progressively delivered.
The documents were handed over to LGen Kanwal Kumar, director general, army aviation, by GVS Bhaskar, chief executive officer, helicopter division, in the presence of R Madhavan, CMD, HAL.
Officials from the Army, HAL, DGAQA and RCMA were present on the occasion.

The ALH.MK III is designed for utility roles of military services and suited for high altitude operations. Equipment includes:
- Shakti engine
- IADS with Digital Moving Map
- Electronic Warfare Suite
- Electro Optical pod
- Counter Measure Dispensing system
- Infra Red Suppressor
- Health & Usage Monitoring system
- Solid State Digital Video Recorder (SSDVR)
- Engine Particle Separator
