Advanced Torque Products, February 26, 2018 - Advanced Torque Products (ATP) of Newington, CT worked directly with Enstrom Helicopters Director of Product Support to improve the torquing method of the mast nut on the F-28F Piston, 480B Turbine, and 280FX Piston.
And they’re excited to announce this custom tooling kit is now available to anyone working on these applications.
This tooling was developed working with the Director of Product Support at Enstrom Helicopter Corp to assure it met all the needs of the tool operators. Not only did the new tool meet their needs, it exceeded their expectations.
The purpose in developing this alternate tooling was to reduce weight & size, improve accuracy and provide a safer solution for operators.
Some of the issues maintenance professionals were facing, was working with large 4’ Torque Wrenches and multiplier adapters, which required 2 operators, significant physical force and causes dangerous balance issues during application.
The new ATP761 tooling has addressed all the issues with the current method. The ATP761 drastically reduces application time to less than 5 minutes, labor down to 1 person, increases accuracy to within +/-1%, brings the required physical force to a max of 34 ft-lbs strength and increases overall operator safety.
