BAM, together with Trakka Systems, has been awarded a four-year contract to upgrade the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board's three Leonardo AW139 helicopters, including aircraft ES-PWA.
The contract, awarded under the Purchase of Helicopters SAR Mission Equipment and System Integration programme (Reference No. 310561), will equip the fleet with advanced mission systems to enhance border surveillance, maritime patrol, search and rescue (SAR) and other public safety operations across Estonia and the Baltic Sea region.
The upgrades are designed to improve situational awareness, operational effectiveness and mission response capability, enabling crews to carry out police, coast guard and emergency missions more safely and efficiently.
The project further strengthens the partnership between BAM and Trakka Systems in delivering integrated airborne mission solutions for government and public safety operators.
The contract is financed through the European Union Cohesion Fund project Increasing Maritime Rescue Capability (2021-2027.2.03.23-0017), with additional funding provided by the Estonian state budget.
