Air Rescue Hoist Training Course with HSC-3

Air Rescue Systems Corp (ARS) completed initial “Fluid-Dynamic” Helicopter Hoist training with the US Navy Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 3 (HSC-3) at Naval Base Coronado, CA

As the designated Search and Rescue Model Manager (SARMM), HSC-3 “Merlins” ensure that search and rescue (SAR) units are fully-qualified to perform lifesaving operations with standardization in SAR training, equipment, manuals and procedures

Air Rescue Systems, December 11, 2022 - Air Rescue Systems Corp. (ARS) is proud to share the completion of initial “Fluid-Dynamic” Helicopter Hoist training with the United States Navy.

In a teaming with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 3’s (HSC-3) Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Search and Rescue Model Manager (SARMM), ARS provided the first course in true dynamic hoist operations in Coronado, CA.

The course curriculum included the fundamentals of “rotor-flow dynamics”, the physics, math and science of hoist-load movement and the detailed communications and flight inputs of precision hoisting.

Beyond the HSC-3 “Merlins”, team representatives from throughout the USN included: Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC), Helicopter Sea Combat Weapons School Pacific, Helicopter Sea Combat Weapons School Atlantic, Lemoore Station SAR and Whidbey Island Station SAR.
