AirSuite, September 04, 2025 - Thunder Bay, ON - AirSuite, a leader in flight operations and safety software, is proud to announce it has achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001:2022 certification; the globally recognized standard for information security management systems.

This certification reflects AirSuite’s dedication to protecting client data, maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and continually improving its security practices. The company is also on target to complete another milestone, the SOC 2 Type 2 compliance audit, before the new year.

AirSuite has met rigorous international standards as a software service provider with information security and data protection. The ISO certification took 18 months to complete, a testament to AirSuite’s commitment to safeguard sensitive data and ensure secure, reliable operations for hundreds of aviation companies who subscribe to Cirro by AirSuite worldwide. ISO is the world’s largest developer and publisher of International Standards informed by a network of national standards bodies of 173 countries, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland.

Mikael Mintenko, Cybersecurity and Privacy Specialist at AirSuite who led the certification effort, said “ISO certification is the gold standard for information security that aviation companies need to consider when they are selecting digital systems. As the aviation industry increasingly adopts digital tools and advancements, platforms like Cirro must continuously strive for compliance, reliability, and security. Certification includes annual audits and evidence that safety and data integrity are consistently managed.”

What “ISO Certified” Means for Aviation Companies Using Cirro

Data is safer : AirSuite adheres to global best practices in information security. Its systems and processes have been independently audited to meet strict security standards. Sensitive data is managed with strict controls to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

Proactive risk management : Ongoing monitoring, continuous improvement, and regular audits provide trust. AirSuite is actively identifying and reducing security risks, not just reacting after issues occur.

Business continuity, reliability, and peace of mind : AirSuite has processes for resilience, disaster recovery, and incident response meaning its services remain dependable even under challenging circumstances using verified standards to safeguard information.

Michael Kleywegt, CEO of AirSuite said “achieving ISO certification is more than a milestone for Cirro, it was a rigorous process that included over 125 specific security, cloud, and privacy controls that we were measured against. It is a promise to our clients that their operational data is protected to the highest global standards.” As cybersecurity threats continue to escalate in aviation, a single security breach can compromise safety, disrupt operations, and cause critical damage. “Security and trust are non-negotiable. This certification reinforces our role as a trusted partner,” Kleywegt added.

Cirro software handles critical data, from flight planning and crew scheduling to compliance reporting, managing private data with the highest levels of security. AirSuite recognizes that cybersecurity is essential to protecting lives, assets, and businesses.

“From international to regional operators, aviation companies face increasing regulatory pressure and cybersecurity risks. ISO certification is an essential layer of security so operators can focus on providing safe, efficient, and compliant flights,” added Kleywegt.

As the industry rapidly evolves, Cirro by AirSuite remains at the forefront providing trusted, cybersecure, user-friendly operations and safety software.
