KAI Tested KUH-1 Surion Firefighter Variant

Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) tested the Simplex Model 338 fire attack system capable of holding 2000-liters in the KUH-1 Surion





KAI Tested KUH-1 Surion Firefighter Variant
Simplex, December 22, 2017 - Simplex Aerospace announced it’s newest Fire Attack System, the Model 338 for the KUH-1 Surion has performed a successful flight test in South Korea.

With the first of two units being delivered to Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) in October 2017, the Model 338 is capable of holding 2000-liters and boasts a sub 5 second drop.

Mark Zimmerman, Simplex Aerospace President and CEO, stated, “The 338 systems will drastically help local fire fighters to better manage wildland fires in all of Korea. By adapting our system to the new KUH-1 Surion Helicopter, we have developed a solid platform for the future of wildland firefighting in Korea, and Asia all together.”
