MedX AirOne, March 10, 2021 - MedX AirOne, Northern Nevada’s premier medical transport service, recently enhanced its fleet with two state-of-the-art Bell 407 helicopters.
Based at Winnemucca’s Humboldt General Hospital and at Elko’s Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital, these rotors can travel at speeds of 150 mph, a critical advantage for these rural Nevada communities.
Becky Jones, the director of Cardiovascular Services for Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital stated, “MedX AirOne is an essential part of our local healthcare system. Every minute matters for patients having a cardiac event and these helicopters and their highly trained medical crews save patients’ lives.”
In 2015, MedX AirOne began with one rotor based at Winnemucca’s Humboldt General Hospital. The company has quickly grown to three bases across Northern Nevada. The Elko, Ely, and Winnemucca bases are strategically located to provide essential emergency medical transport to critical patients needing life-saving treatment.
Paul Ward, MedX AirOne’s executive director stated, “We are proud to be reinvesting in the communities we serve and the Bell 407s enhance our ability to rapidly transport patients in their time of need. They are ideal for our climate and topography and are the most advanced air medical helicopters in rural Nevada.”
