Helis, August 10, 2018 - According an official video, the new Mi-172A2 helicopter performing final tests suffered a hard landing last August 3rd.
Apparently during the test flight which involved one of the two engines to be turned off the pilot lowered the aircraft nose too much and the main rotor blades hit the ground.
Report stated that there were not injured in the incident but the damage suffered by the helicopter cannot be yet determined.
The multipurpose Mi-171A2 helicopter is one of the most anticipated novelties of the Russian helicopter industry and is the result of a profound modernization of the lengendary Mi-8/17 series.
The helicopter is equipped with the VK-2500PS-03 engine (civil version of engines mounted on combat helicopters Mi-28) with a digital control system.
