Rostec, August 11, 2016 - The Russian Helicopters holding company has plans to open a repair center for Mi-8/17 helicopters in Azerbaijan.
The relevant agreement is planned to be signed at the ADEX 2016 fair, which will be held on September 27–30 in Baku.
"Russian Helicopters plans to open its service center for the maintenance and overhauling of civil Mi-8/17 rotor-wing machines in Baku on the base of Silk Way Helicopter Services. At the same time, we are considering this center's capabilities being extended to the maintenance and overhaul of military helicopters," the holding company Deputy General Director on customer service Igor Chechikov informed TASS.
According to him, the relevant agreements should be signed during the ADEX 2016 international fair, and forms of cooperation and procedure are currently being discussed.
Highly skilled maintenance and customer service for helicopters is one of the key components of Russian Helicopters' strategy. The holding company's service policy aims to create the best conditions for operators when performing maintenance on and repairing Russian helicopters over their entire life cycle.
Today, the service centers of the holding company operate in many countries where Russian rotor-wing machines operate, particularly in South Korea, Brazil, Canada and Spain. Russian Helicopters further intends to improve its global network. As the holding company press report states, in 2017 there are plans to open a Mi-8/17 helicopter service center in Egypt, and in 2018 to fully equip a Mi-17V-5 aircraft repair plant in India.
