Italy deployed five NH90 Tactical Transport helicopters in Afghanistan

Operating from Herat, the helicopters perform tactical transport missions every day.

This is the first time that a nation deploys operationally the NH90 on such a difficult theatre of operations.

The Crews expressed their satisfaction with the perofrmances of this new generation helicopter in hot and high conditions.

The helicopters arrived end of August in a C-17 cargo aircraft.
