Heli-One, April 20, 2016 - Kuala Lumpur– AIROD has signed a contract with Heli-One (Norway) for the glass cockpit upgrade of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Sikorsky S-61 helicopters.
This collaboration between AIROD and Heli-One will provide a customised solution through developing a new design to leverage the latest technology that will add new capabilities to these helicopters and greatly enhance their performance.
The upgrade will add new tactical capabilities and allow for standardisation of aircraft systems across the fleet. It will enable the aircraft to fly in day and night under all weather conditions as well as addressing obsolescence issues, subsequently, allowing the RMAF S61A-4 NURI helicopter to expand its life-span for at least another 15 years.
