Helis, November 24, 2018 - Today, at Agua Dulce beach, in the Peruvian district of Chorrillos, the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Somerset (LPD-25) deployed 300 US Marines for a training exercise.
“Olas Solidarias” (solidarity waves) was part of a multi agency exercise with the Peruvian armed forces, police and local disaster relief agencies.
The Peruvian navy deployed their new Makassar-class landing platform dock BAP Pisco (AMP-156) with 600 naval infantry troops.
The exercise goal was to demonstrate an integrated response of many government resources against a possible natural disaster and of course strengthen and improve interoperability relations between both nations.
