The company was founded as
Scancopter-Service AS in 1956.
In 1966 became involved in the oil industry and changed its name to
Helikopter Service.
In 1984 acquired
Helitourist AS
and in 1993
Braathens.
In 1996 changed its name to
Helicopter Services Group when acquired
the British
Bond Helicopters,
Australian
Lloyd Helicopters
and South African
Court Helicopters
In 1999 was acquired by Canadian
CHC
becoming thus
CHC Helikopter Service
In 2009 changed its name to
CHC Norway, but in October 2010 changed back to
CHC Helikopter Service.
