The Servicio Aeronaval de la Marina Peruana (AVINAV) was created in 1919 as Cuerpo de Aviacion Naval but was merged in 1932 with the army aviation to form the Peruvian Air Force. On 3 July 1963 was created again as the aviation element of the Peruvian Navy.
