B Company, 1st Battalion (General Support), 168th Aviation Regiment (GSAB), is a unit within the Washington Army National Guard. This unit traces its history back to 1959 and has undergone several reorganizations to meet evolving defense needs. Currently, the 1-168th GSAB is equipped with both CH-47 Chinook and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, enabling them to conduct a variety of missions, including air movement, air assault, MEDEVAC, and combat support. While headquartered at Gray Army Airfield, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, elements of the 1-168th GSAB are distributed across several Western states, and the battalion has a history of supporting both federal missions, such as deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, Spartan Shield, and Inherent Resolve, and state missions, including wildfire air operations and other defense support of civil authorities.
