Flight school. Pilot courses and training German air rescue
DRF Akademie GmbH is a training organization and wholly owned subsidiary of DRF Stiftung Luftrettung gemeinnützige GmbH. The academy provides education and professional training for personnel within the DRF Luftrettung group as well as for external clients.
Its training programs include basic and advanced instruction in emergency medicine, flight operations, aircraft maintenance, and organizational leadership. The curriculum is largely based on the operational experience of the DRF Group’s medical, aviation, and technical personnel, with an emphasis on the practical requirements of air rescue and emergency medical services.
The academy was established as a dedicated entity around 2017, originally operating under the name AP³ Luftrettung GmbH before being renamed DRF Akademie GmbH. Its registered headquarters are located in Filderstadt. Most practical training activities are conducted at the Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport, where the DRF Luftrettung operations center is based, as well as at the organization’s training facility in Bühl.
