UK Helicopter Operational Conversion Flight

1967–1971

Recognising the growing importance of helicopters from the RAF in the tactical support role for the Army, the Helicopter Operational Conversion Flight was established at RAF Odiham. It formed on 1 Jul 1967 from the Wessex element of the Short Range Conversion Unit (SRCU) and served until May 1971 when it disbanded, to emerge as the Air Training Squadron.
