Wiltshire Air Ambulance

The unit was set up as a joint venture with Wiltshire Police and Wiltshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust in April 1990. It uses an MD902 leased from Police Aviation Services. At the end of 2014 the lease expired and a Bell 429 was provided by Heli Charter Ltd under a 10 year agreement, signed in Jan 2014.

From the beginning of 2015, Wiltshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust (WAACT) operated an exclusive Bell 429 from the Wiltshire Police Devizes site, on an initial 5 year lease. That lease was terminated early, once its new base at Outmarsh Farm was completed, after a buiild start date in Spring 2017.

On January 2019, the Bell 429 was grounded after operator Heli Charter Ltd went into voluntary liquidation. In order to continue operating, WAACT rent a Specialist Aviation Services MD902, G-KSSH, which was replaced by G-SASR in April when it entered annual maintenance cycle
