1941-nov-01Laid downLaid down Swan Hunter (Wallsend) Yard No. 1669
1942-oct-12LaunchedLaunched from SW Wallsend Yard.
1943-may-27CommissionedCommissioned as Rapid class HMS Grenville (R97)
1953RefitRefit until 1954, conversion at HMD Chatham from a Rapid class frigate (R97) to Type 15 standard
1957-febTrialsTrials fitted with flight deck aft for later use in English Channel with Fairey Ultra Light G-AOUJ
1958-oct-23 minor damage during collision in Portland Harbour
1967 far east cruise in 1967-69. After a fire on HMS Agincourt many of the crew were transferred to Grenville. After work up she did a Mediterranean cruise then joined the second destroyer squadron Far East fleet [Cdr George Brewer]. When she returned to Portsmouth the lattice mast was removed and she painted her black 2 red anhd joined the 2nd Frigate squadron as a radar trials ship

1983Fate: scrappedFate: scrapped Queenborough Breakers Yard towed from Devonport to Portsmouth late 1979, then on to Isle of Sheppey for scrapping.
