30jul82 rescue of Coast Guard HC-130H Hercules CG-1600 9 survivors on Attu Island AK while deployed from the CGC Mellon. LT's Bill Peterson and Mike Wallace with crewman AD2 Jeff Smith were the aircrew on CG-1425 for the rescue and received that Association of Naval Aviation Award for helicopter crew in . CG-1425 was one of the few HH-52's outfitted with Primus 40 weather radars for the Alaska Patrol (ALPAT) mission.
