The Bruce Process, Utilities and Quarters (PUQ) Platform was established in the Phase 1 development of the Bruce field. Bruce is a large gas condensate accumulation to the west of the major Viking Graben structure; it covers several licence blocks and consists of complex structural traps of various Mesozoic ages. It is connected by a bridge to the adjacent Drill platform (which does not have a helideck) and since 1998 to a nearby Compression Reception (CR) platform installed during Phase 2. The CR platform receives output from newer wells in Bruce, as well as via undersea manifolds from the Keith and Rhum fields.
