Operates the longest running scheduled helicopter service in the world from Penzance Heliport (EGHK) to the Isles of Scilly - St. Marys (EGHE) and Tresco (EGHT). Also operates in the North Sea.
As of 2015, three helicopters ( G-ATBJ, G-ATFM and G-BFRI ) are still in use for cargo and different support roles ( Falklands/Malvinas, FOST, etc ) but without licence to carry passengers
As of November 2012, British International Helicopters ceased all helicopter flights to the Isles of Scilly. The company went into liquidation.
AW189 Starts SAR for UK MoD in South Atlantic, 01-Apr-16 : AW189 and S-61N from AAR, BIH and Air Rescue Systems (ARS) commenced Search and Rescue (SAR) and Support Helicopter (SH) services to the British Forces South Atlantic Islands (BFSAI) operations.
