On March 14, 2023 it was announced that the canceled NH90 will be replaced by the proven Sikorsky Seahawk. It will be operated primarily for the Coast Guard but will also be able to embark on Navy frigates for antisubmarine warfare.
Initial order is for 6 helicopters with delivery scheduled between 2025 and 2027.
