United Rotorcraft, July 04, 2022 - United Rotorcraft (UR), a division of Air Methods Corporation, announced the delivery of a Bell 407 GXi helicopter to LifeNet of the Heartland, with its new and improved HEMS interior Supplemental Type Certificate (STC).

“By working intimately with our customer’s clinical staff and capturing their input for optimal patient care, our team was able to take the Bell 407’s HEMS capability to the next level,” said UR president Larry Alexandre.

“This new STC was 100% designed with the objective to save more lives.”

This new Bell 407 medical interior can accommodate single patient, isolette or specialty transport and comes standard with the articulating litter loading system (ALLS). Located on the left side of the aircraft, the litter can translate forward and aft, allowing the primary care giver to be seated at the patient’s head for maximum care.

By removing the overhead lighting and O2 outlet above the patient and replacing them with track mounted IV hangars, as well as making the Pilot Isolation Barrier (PIB) flashlight and mount and equipment shelf above the patient optional, United Rotorcraft’s new STC allows for greater patient room, comfort and clinician ease of access.

With a reputation for designing, certifying, and integrating quality products and systems to meet HEMS operators’ unique mission requirements, UR’s innovative medical interiors are designed to optimize patient care and provide its customers the most advanced and modular interiors on the market.

LifeNet of the Heartland has been committed to providing essential and lifesaving services to its region for over 40 years. Established in 1978, the organization is a full-service air medical transport provider that has completed more than 10,000 patient transports and operates close to 400 flights annually. Its new Bell 407 GXi will be replacing its current Bell 407 GX.
