Established 1967, the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is a private, non-profit international development agency founded by Prince Shah Al Hussaini, Aga Khan IV seeking solutions to problems related to poverty, hunger, illiteracy and ill health in the poorest parts of Asia and Africa.
Operates under the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) framework which is a group of agencies dedicated to improving living conditions and opportunities in the areas where it operates.
