Fleet Air Arm (RAN) MH-60R Seahawk

On June 16, 2011 was announced Australia signed a Letter of Acceptance (a formal agreement with the US Navy) for the purchase of 24 MH-60R Seahawks with first expected deliveries by 2014. Australia was already a S-70B Seahawk user since 1989.
Lockheed-Martin completed first Australian cockpit in February 2013 and the first 2 aircraft were delivered in December.

In October 2014, the first MH-60R arrived to Australia after almost a year of training at NAS Jacksonville, Florida.

In September 2016, the 24th, and final, was delivered in a ceremony held at RANAS Nowra.

On October 14, 2021, an MH-60R from HMAS Brisbane (DDGH-41) ditched in the Philippine Sea. The 3-crew rescued with minor injuries.

In 2022, RAN Orders 12 additional aircraft to replace MRH90s and 1 extra as replacement for aircraft lost. Aircraft delivery from end of 2025-2027.

In 2025, RAN celebrated the 50,000 flying hours milestone in 10 years of operations.
