The BK117 D-3m (marketed as H145M) is the military version of the five-bladed H145 helicopter. It received EASA type certification in 2020 and entered service in 2021. The German Bundeswehr is the largest operator under its Light Attack Helicopter (LKH) program, while several other countries—including Hungary, Serbia, Luxembourg, Thailand, and Cyprus—also operate the type. Additional operators include government and emergency service organizations, and recent orders from Belgium, Brunei, Indonesia, and Ireland are expected to expand the fleet further through 2027. The helicopter is used for a variety of missions, including search and rescue, light attack, and troop transport.
